MISSION STATEMENT

Edmonton Metro Ball Hockey is dedicated to providing an opportunity for all individuals to play ball hockey in a safe, enjoyable and organized environment. Having emphasis on integrity, honesty and respect for each other, we are committed to the growth, development and advancement of ball hockey in Edmonton and surrounding areas. With strong leadership, innovative marketing and a professional attitude we look to help individuals build lasting friendships and memorable experiences based upon sportsmanship and fair play."

*INTRODUCTION AND A BIT ABOUT US.....

EMBH is always looking for teams and individuals to play and offers four levels (Tier 1,2,3 and 4) of play for men and three levels (A, B and C) of play for women. The league is run and administered by a group of individuals which include paid staff (administrator, supervisor and assignors), and of course sanctioned referees and timekeepers.

Our season begins in early April and runs through until mid-July, concluding with a couple weeks of playoffs. Games are played at prime times on weekday nites and on Sundays (no Saturday games). Teams will usually play two games a week.

We are members of the Wild Rose Ball Hockey Association of Alberta and the Canadian Ball Hockey Association who govern the sport of ball hockey on a provincial and national level respectively. This allows us the opportunity to send teams to Provincials, Westerns, Regionals and National championships

* UNIQUE FEATURES OF OUR LEAGUE

All games will be played out of the city arenas, full sized hockey rinks with netting AND glass all the way around. They feature lots of parking, full sized benches, large dressing rooms with showers and stands for spectators.

In each arena, the league will have an office where a supervisor will be located. Each League Supervisor will be there to handle any questions or needs of the teams and players. This greatly assists in the hands-on operation of the league and increases it's efficiency.

> The league will be using the Pointstreak Scorekeeping System (same as our winter program) to keep track of standings, team and players stats. This will eliminate the need for teams to write out gamesheets.

> Our website (www.EMBH.ca) will be updated continually with news, events and information for players and teams. Along with our e-mail address, it will provide an excellent communication forum for everyone.

> All Star Weekend to be enjoyed by all levels of play. This will include games and Skills Competitions.

> Awards (medals and t-shirts) for all Tier and Divisional winners and individual awards for MVP, Best Defenseman and Best Goalie
